Shameless foodie pic, I know…. but it was sooo good! Blackened catfish seasoned to perfection, mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. The whipped honey butter just melted right into the cornbread. Server Rigo took great care of me and my husband. Impressed at the sanitation practices during these crazy times. We got our hands sprayed with sanitizer as we walked in, and staff close by ready to disinfect after your meal. Good job Porkchop, we will be back

I came here with my brother. He had a Escovitch salmon and I had stew chicken. My stew chicken had a rich flavor. It was very heavy in flavor if that makes sense. My brother let me try his salmon and I preferred that over what I had. We asked to be served outside because it was packed inside the restaurant and it was hot in there. We came on a Sunday around 4 or 5 o’clock.

Love this place, kind of low-key eaterie in Hyde park. Very charming ambiance, nice for a cute date night or brunch with friends. Food came out shockingly fast but hot and fresh. Street Parking leaves something to be desired, but that’s basically anywhere in HP. Minus one star for 18% “service fee” added regardless of party size. Not the most wallet friendly eaterie, meal for 2 was $90. All in all a good experience if you can find/pay for parking and don’t mind the bill

Did veggies are really bad. Just boiled not grilled and no flavor at all. Lintels soup was great. The place got busy after I got in and everybody around me ordered the casseroles which is rice missed with some veggie and a sauce plus side salads. No one ordered grilled meats which was interesting. Usually that’s the flagship if Arabic cuisine. Give it a try and let us know

I was in charge of picking a lunch spot for the entire production crew. Something that would work for everyone, while still being a little bit adventurous. We ordered a variety of food including the Paella, shrimp/beef/tofu/duck bacos, sweet potato fries, and salads and i heard nothing but good things from everyone! The first meal I tried from the place was spaghetti with meatballs. I was a fair meal, the bread was not enough for me, but I understand portions per meal. The other item I tried was the “almost gourmet” pizza. This is a really good pizza, with a nice mixture of meats and veggies. I have had it twice and was not disappointed. I don’t know what else I will try at this establishment, but until then, I feel my rating is accurate

The ambiance, waitstaff and drinks were awesome but in my opinion the food just wasn’t that great especially for the prices. And between 5 of us, we ordered a LOT. I didn’t even end up eating my leftovers. We got the cornbread, mac n cheese (pretty decent), greens (very good), walleye, fried green tomatoes, gumbo (ok) and more. I’ll go back for the drinks but I don’t see myself eating there again. It PAINS me to say but yea. I went for my birthday, spent a LOT and had to get tacos at the end of my night

This was my second time having brunch at Mesler. The first time was more than a year ago; I ordered the chicken and waffles and thought it was a good dish though the waffles were too sugary. I got the same meal and am happy to say that they’ve made some tweaks to tone down the sugar. There’s a red, spicy salsa that comes with the meal as well as pickled okra that make it overall less sweet. Recommended!
