OMG the steak & sauce jibarito is a food that you will forever crave. The tenderness & moistness of the steak is so perfectly balanced. They add a drizzle of garlic sauce on top of the fried plantain to give it that kick of garlic. Love the fact that the plantain is soft and not hard or crispy, which substitutes the bread in a complimented way. GREAT PLACE & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I’m a super picky eater and I hated everything that is not Mexican food or hot dog stands but my coworkers introduced me to this place and it was very very good and meat eaters will be happy even if you do not have a worldly palate like myself. The food and service was excellent but is pricey for 18th street. I’m also cheap and old so maybe for hip young people they will say it’s normal price. I will say the food was worth every penny

So this restaurant has very great food with amazing flavor which is the reason why I give it three stars. The location itself, as soon as you come in there is a very strong humid odor. We went in and you can see the marks of fingerprints on the doors smeared. When we sat down they had Glass tables and they were sticky when you would put your arm on it. The lighting Was very dim which Made it hard to see how clean the location was. With proper cleaning and the proper lighting and getting rid of the humid smell, this place can be a 5/5. We decided to leave and eat outside solemnly because the smell was too strong

Such a delicious meal in a family owned restaurant. I had the Lechón plate with arroz con grandules and maduro and my fiancé has the pescado jibarito. Both were SO GOOD.They give large portions and the restaurant is SUPER CLEAN. We definitely will return !

Delicious food!! Went there for first time and took some co workers around 10 am, it was empty so it felted kind of unsure about the place, there was no server you order at counter and pay, then they bring the food to you, and boy our food was excellent, very tasty and good portions, I’ll come back and most definitely recommend this place, to the owner the place could use some updating and perhaps table service

Excellent quality food, once we received it! I understand that quality food doesn’t come instantly, but it took approximately 20 minutes for our food to be ready. The staff was very friendly! My only critique would be the numbering system for orders. I’m bilingual and understood everything being said, but they were calling out numbers not on my receipt. The other customers were confused as well.

Loved this place. Jibaritos were delicious, piña colada mock tail was tasty, and the service was fun. Watched a Cubs game, made some friends, and chatted there for a solid 2 hours – it was an experience I won’t forget! I felt included and a part of Chicago even while visiting for only a short time. I maybe accused of a little bias because I am Puerto Rican but I can clear this up by saying that I have tried all of the Puerto Rican restaurants in Humboldt Park, and this one by far is the most authentic and yummy. If you are a fan of PR food and you are in Ch-Town, this is your location. Their pasteles are incredible along with their arroz con gandules. Highly suggested, their crew will please you as well

Visiting Chicago found this place on Google was like a 30 min drive from where we were staying but it was worth the drive. Favorite thing out of everything we ordered was the carne frita. Had tostones, maduros, arroz con gandules and chuleta, bacalaitos,pastelillos, and sorrulos. Will visit again next time we are in the area
