This was my first experience with Peruvian cuisine and I’m grateful it was at Tanta. Our server was infectiously energetic and explained the menu to us with wonderful recommendations that helped us enjoy a full spectrum of the cuisine as newbies. The dishes were very nicely done, esp. the ceviche and anything with octopus. The Pisco sour as promised was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the lively vibe also.

Taste of Peru never disappoints! Their food is always incredible, and the staff and owner make you feel like part of the family. I come here with my family often, and this is a favorite spot for us to bring out-of-town family. We always get the Ceviche Especial. I also love the Aji de Gallina, Papa Rellena and Cau Cau. I’m lucky to have this restaurant in my neighborhood and know them to be very generous and community-minded, as well

This restaurant has a large menu, not just rotisserie chicken. Took two house guests there. We were impressed with the waiter’ He knew the menu well
Food was delicious! Well packaged.. Each item was saran wrapped and condiments were stapled in brown paper bags.. This made me trust that my food was safe and handled with care especially during corona and contactless delivery! I have had Peruvian food before and was always disappointed..

My friend and I visited for lunch on a Sunday. Lawrence gets pretty busy, but meter parking is fairly abundant and free on Sundays. It wasn’t too busy and all the tables were spread far apart. Pisco is participating in Restaurant week so that’s what prompted the visit. They didn’t mention that upon arrival or provide the menu, but did bring it out when I asked.

They also have many Peruvian drinks that other restaurants don’t have. Do yourself a favor and order Queirolo’s plum Brandy. If you go for lunch or dinner lomo saltado. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Because my ex was Peruvian, we tried a lot of Peruvian places a few years back, and both of us agreed that this one was the best, hands down. I’ve been back many times and it still has yet to disappoint. Try the pollo à la brassa, which is to die for, or the ceviche, which is amazing as well. They now support delivery, which I don’t believe they had before the quarantine. Five stars!

Went to Avenida Peru last week the server was very nice and the lomo saltado was GREAT! It was juicy but not smothered as well as not over salted and the rice was very warm and moist not dry at all. The lomo was perfect honestly best lomo I’ve had so far at a restaurant. I think we’ve found a new Peruvian restaurant in the neighborhood that is gonna be big
