Delicious omakase! I dined in with two friends on a Tuesday night. We made a reservation 3-4 days in advance since it’s a smaller, more intimate restaurant, having a reservation is important. Every course was amazing and perfectly timed. I’m not even a fan of wasabi but the way it was used in the dishes was delightful. The fish and oysters were incredible. Two of us had traveled from out of town and tried 10+ restaurants while in the city, yet we found this to be the most wonderful meal yet! We finished with a smoked anchovy ice cream and it was mind blowing. It sounds unappealing, I know, but it was perfect – from presentation to taste. One of the best meals of my life

I thought the place was authentic Japanese sushi, but it was a delicate and fine Japanese-American fusion restaurant. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. The taste of sushi was something I had never tasted anywhere else sushi had various sub-ingredients on top or bottom of the sashimi. It combined the taste of those ingredients and the sashimi texture to express something other than traditional sushi. However, my minor complaint was that the sushi rice was very lightly seasoned, so I could hardly feel the sushi rice feeling. I don’t know if this is the chef’s intention, but personally, it caused a sense of incongruity with the food

Amazing dining experience in chi town!! On the pricier side but the food, service, and ambience more than makes up for it. The food was terrific, just wow. Hamachi Serrano Chili is a must must try. It finished within seconds and we had to order a second one. The NY prime steak and the sea bass was excellent too. The chocolate cake literally melts in your mouth. Perfect sweet ending to a fantastic dining experience

A hidden gem in the north park- Peterson park area. Small only 9 tables but have a floor sit down area for over 5 people parties, giving you the full experience of a Japanese restaurant. The waitresses are dressed as geishas, a very nice touch to the experience. The food might take a few extra minutes when the restaurant is busy but it is worth it. Only thing I didn’t like was the soup that is served before the main course like, I think they used tofu instead of meat, which resulted in a very weird taste of the soup. It is reasonably priced and family friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area looking for good food

What can I say about Ron of Japan? This place is a gem. Truly a place of wonder! Now you might be wondering why I’m saying this and that’s because I’VE NEVER HAD hibachi as good as this. Seriously get the shogun dinner and a few drinks and tell me it’s not the greatest place. Is it expensive? Yes definitely but you are paying for amazing food and drinks. This is the place if you want delicious lobster and steak cooked with egg yolk sauce that will make you die. Their staff and atmosphere is top notch. I love this place so much I drove out of town again just to come here it’s that good

Loved the ambience and service here. The staff Rich and the manager Roger were personal and the best host ever. We even got an appetizer & wine complimentary. I had the Chicago Crazy and the Crouching Tuna Hidden Crab 🦀. Delicious. Oh and the deep fried banana dessert 🍨was delicious. I was sooo stuffed after this meal. Took a nice leisure walk back home super happy. No waiting for a table. Got a Huge booth too for 3 people. Owned and operated by authentic Japanese. I would definitely be back here
